The U.S. Department of Labor is increasing visa application fees at U.S. consulates for nonimmigrant visas effective June 17th.  Fees for Visa Services (state.gov)

  • Non-petition based applications (B-1/B2, F, M and J visas) will increase from $160 to $185.
  • Certain petition based applications (H, L, O, P, Q and R) will increase from $190 to $205
  • E visas will increase from $205 to $315

People traveling this summer who need to apply for new visas in their passports should be prepared to pay the increased fees, plus any reciprocity fees for their country which can be found at U.S. Visa: Reciprocity and Civil Documents by Country (state.gov).  They should also look at visa processing wait times for the consulate at which they are applying for the visa as these wait times could increase during the summer months.  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/wait-times.html
